MAP-i Doctoral Symposium - July 2008
The MAP-i Doctoral Symposium in Computer Science is a research forum for PhD candidates to present and discuss their PhD theses proposals. This year's event takes place at the University of Minho, Gualtar Campus in Braga on July 2 to 4. (program available here)
Open Calls for PhD grants
- FCT grants - open until 15th September 2008
- 1st phase: deadline 16th June
- 2nd phase: deadline 15th September
- FCT CMU-Portugal grants - open until 31st December
- 1st phase: deadline 15th July.
- 2nd phase: deadline 31st December.
- Fundação Caloust Gulbenkian - open from 12th May until 18th June
Admissions 2008/09 (deadlines):
- Applications (extended): open until 25th September
- Selection: 29th September

Students enrolled for dual PhD degrees with CMU
MAP-i was the first Portuguese doctoral program with students from 2007/08 edition enrolled for dual PhD degrees with CMU, they are:
- Miguel Santos Silva at ECE Department in CMU
- Augusto Santos at CS School (HCI Department) in CMU
- Rui Meireles at CS School in CMU
These students are co-supervised by CMU and MAP-i faculty. We expect more students to be enrolled in the CMU-Portugal initiative for 2008/09.
