Applications for a MAP-i grant must be made no later than 30th April, 2008 (New Deadline: 15/June/2008). Write in your submission letter that you are applying also for a research grant from the program.

Other opportunities for grants: to maximize your opportunities you can also:

  • Apply for FCT PhD grants directly to FCT. The contest is open, usually, during May and June. You need to have a resident permit if you are not a EU citizen.
  • Apply for a CMU-Portugal PhD grant. In this case you are advised to apply with CMU (ECE and CS Departments) and indicate in your statement of purpose your intent to be also connected with MAP-i.

Students from MAP-i with CMU-Portugal grants will be co-advised by faculty at CMU and at MAP-i, will spend 2 years at CMU and 2 years at one of the MAP Universities, and will be entitled to dual PhD degrees from CMU and MAP universities.

  • Apply for a project research grant. We will shortly provide a list of these proposals.
